Dad Of Top NJ High School Wrestler Caught On Video In Bleacher Brawl: Reports

A real-life Royal Rumble fight allegedly involving the father of one of the nation's top high school wrestlers broke out in the stands of a New Jersey meet over the weekend.

UPDATE: Three-Time New Jersey Wrestling Champ Anthony Knox Disqualified From State Tournament

Video shows the conclusion of a wrestling match at Collingswood High School during the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association District 25 wrestling championships Saturday, Feb. 22.

A man in a white tank top is seen running into the bleachers leading to the melee. He was identified by NJ Advance Media as Anthony Knox Sr. Knox's son, Anthony Knox, is a three-time state champion at St. John Vianney High who has committed to Cornell. USA Wrestling puts Knox at No. 1 in the nation for 126-pounders.

The elder Knox was seen being led away in handcuffs, according to a photo from the incident and witnesses. Video shows Knox Sr. being escorted out of the gymnasium.

Footage shows several people needing to be restrained and one person falling over.

Daily Voice has sent emails to Collingswood police, high school officials, and the NJSIAA requesting more information.

“We are aware of the incident that occurred during today’s wrestling event in Collingwood and are actively working to gather all the facts,” The NJSIAA said in a statement. “We do not condone this type of behavior in any capacity. As we assess the situation, we will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.”
